Dear Church Family,

The Session of Murphy Presbyterian Church has been monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19. We are concerned with the rising number of confirmed cases in Cherokee County. Because the numbers are rising, we are strongly encouraging people to wear masks while in Sunday School and corporate worship.

Maybe you are not concerned about COVID-19 personally and do not feel the need to wear a mask. While that may be the case, we are asking you to be concerned for the welfare and wellbeing of your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Jesus says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets” (Matt. 22:37b-40). We are simply asking that you show love to your neighbor by wearing a mask while in Sunday School or corporate worship.

The Session of Murphy Presbyterian Church will continue to monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19 and will make decisions accordingly. We care for each and every one of you.

In Christ,

The Session of Murphy Presbyterian Church
